Etymology and photo studies

Thank you all for your kind and warm wishes. The family is home now and getting some rest after four sleepless nights. I am doing just fine and so are my parents. My father says that I am so adorable 😉

FYI, those who are interested in etymology: the name Dana comes from ancient Ukrainian religion and is attributed to the God’s incarnation of water. “Da” means water and “Na” means mother, hence, The Mother of Water.

Few picture highlights of today:

My zeroth birthday

Hello,

My father has just taught me few things about life on a strange planet called Internet, so I decided to introduce myself and say hello to you strangers.

My name is Dana and I just celebrated my zeroth birthday. Sorry, you were not invited, but no one, even my parents, knew the exact date, so it all came out pretty ad hoc.

My family had a feeling I am a girl long time ago. They say it was my father who discovered pink lines on the first test. In fact, the whole family wanted a girl. So I had no other choice. I am so glad I was destined for the right one right up front.

From what I heard in last nine months, life on planet Earth is a bit turbulent these days. You people talk about credit crunches, anti-globalisation… all those complicated words. On the planet called Mum’s Tummy we keep quite harmonious pace, nothing that bad.

I have to admit I was scared a bit to travel to your planet and it took it me a while to make the final mile. My grandma’s whispering about all those nice things there are there to see despite the turmoil, convinced me at last, so I chose the spring as the best time for the journey.

Here I landed in Saint Thomas hospital, just upon Thames River next to Westminster, on 3rd of April 2009 at 20:56 nicely and timely for my Mother’s birthday.

Being just 3.4kg and 53cm I will be probably very busy discovering various hidden and public corners of The Planet Earth trying things and discovering how they work here. My parents tell me that I am poised to change few things for the better ones. So come on, join me in! Looking forward to meeting you one day.

Until then, my best and sincere regards,

Dana
